Cupola Done
04.Jan.07

Finally, it's finished. Still think I should turn it into a guest room.

Collecting Gold
06.Jan.07

The gutters are up and we're ready to collect water and of course it hasn't rain much since. I threw in this shot of our entry now that the scaffolding down. You need to imagine stairs going up and a beautiful (and hopefully affordable) iron gate.

Interior Walls
10.Jan.07

All the interior walls are in.... moving right along.

Drop Ceilings
16.Jan.07

Drop ceilings in both bathrooms and the laundry are complete. We should be able to start plastering soon. This big arched window is in the master bath right next to my bathtub. Going to need the natural light for my tropical spa area. Wondering if I should have put a wine cooler in.... what do you think?

Return Guests
14.Jan.07

Carlos and Maria with their whole gang came by with champagne to check out our progress. Get a look at the new little one on Carlo's lap. Very handsome little fellow.

Cupola Interior
17.Jan.07

Here is Bernd, who has just completed the finishing touches on the cupola. He is also responsible for getting all the drop ceilings, interior walls and many other miscellaneous projects done. His going to be building the cabinets in both baths and is right now working on the window shutters. He is a pleasure to work with and definitely knows his stuff.

More Return Guests
20.Jan.07

While on island, Mark, his daughter and a her friend made a return visit to view our progress and a beautiful sunset. Harley made us all his delicious Margarita. We had a great time!

Window Sills and an... OOPs
26.Jan.07

The guys have most of the concrete sills poured in. Alex (upper left) is giving one its' finishing touches. We have a bit of a problem with the bathroom sill where the toilet goes. A regular sized toilet will now not fit... oops! Fortunately it can be remedy by putting in a "low boy".

The Soaking Tub
28.Jan.07

Here it is, and it's a beauty! Bernd help me lay out the configuration in the master bath, right down to cutting out a template of the tub. I'm going to have buy Mr. Bubble by the case.
